Q. How far are you from Twickenham Stadium?
A. We're just under a mile away- approximately a 10-15 minute walk. We're also only 3 minutes walk from Whitton High Street which has cafes, coffee shops, pubs, shops and supermarkets- perfect for any pre-match supplies and refreshments.
Q. How long have you been running a car park at your school?
A. We've been running a rugby car park here for over 30 years.
Q. Where does the money go?
A. After the deduction of expenses, (i.e web hosting, credit card fees, ticket fees etc), all of the money we raise goes to Nelson Primary School PTA which helps to fund books, equipment, transport and activities for the children. All of our marshals are volunteer parents or teachers. For more details on how we spend the money we raise click here.
Q. When I book a parking space online, will I receive some form of acknowledgement?
A. Yes- when you book you should receive an immediate confirmation email from us with a unique reference number. Please bring this when you come to park- either as a printed copy or on your phone. If you cannot find the email, please check your junk mail folder or contact us. You will also receive a payment receipt from Paypal which you should keep for your records.
Q. Do I have to book, or can I pay on the day?
A. Our car park is very popular and usually sells out to pre-booked customers. If we have any remaining spaces or last minute cancellations, we always offer them on the day on a 'first come, first served' basis.
Q. Do you have toilets?
A. Yes, we do.
Q. What is the largest size of vehicle that your car park can accommodate?
A. We can easily accommodate pre-booked minibuses up to 17 seats. We also have space for one coach (up to 12.5m) or one limousine per event. We are unable to offer any overnight parking.
Q. Which events are you open for? Are you open for concerts?
A. The decision to open is based on expected attendance and other events taking place within the school. Please click here for a list of our current confirmed car park dates and times.
Q. What is the traffic like around the school?
A. There will be between 40,000 & 82,000 people trying to get to the same place as you!
Before the match/ concert you should expect heavy traffic between the M3, M4 and the local area. You should allow at least ¾ hour on top of normal travel estimates. After the match/concert, the local traffic usually flows very well for about half an hour and then becomes very busy for at least the next hour and a half. You can plan your journey and look up live traffic status using this google map link.
Q. What time should I arrive at Nelson Primary School?
A. You should aim to arrive at Nelson Primary School at least an hour before the event starts. The stadium is only about a mile away but you need to allow time to go through security checks and to find your seat which may be on the opposite side of the stadium. We open at least 3 hours before kick off for rugby matches. Last admission to our car park is ½ hour before the match starts. Full opening times for our car park can be found here.
Q. Is Twickenham in the London Congestion Charge area?
A. No. We are outside of the charge area. More details here. Please note that the ULEZ is expanding to all London boroughs on 29th August 2023. Please check to see if your vehicle is exempt.
Q. Is Twickenham in the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) and/or Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ)?
A. Yes- all London boroughs, including Twickenham, are in the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) and Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). More info can be found here. Please check to see if your vehicle is exempt. There is a minimum £250 penalty fine for non-payment of LEZ charges so please check the regulations carefully.
